AUSTRALIAN PHARMACEUTICAL POSTS 61 PCT JUMP IN ANNUAL PROFIT

Pharmaceuticals retailer and manufacturer Australian Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (ASX:API) is looking to expand its retail-based strategy into products for the elderly. API, whose retail operations include Priceline healthcare and beauty stores, House kitchenware and giftware stores, and Price Attack hair care stores, today reported a $A29.72 million ($US22.83 million) annual net profit -- up 61 per cent on the previous year.
