JAPAN'S TAKEDA PHARMACEUTICAL TO OUTSOURCE US DRUG SALES -- REPORT

July 28, 2005

Takeda Pharmaceutical Co, Japan's largest drug maker, will partly outsource its sales of Roserem, a new insomnia treatment to be launched in the US in September, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported, citing unnamed company officials. This is the first time Takeda has outsourced its operations, the business daily reported. A US outsourcing company will market the drug there by mobilizing about 500 sales staff, while Takeda will also assign some 500 employees in the US to the task, the report said.
