BOEHRINGER INGELHEIM SHOWS CONTINUED GROWTH

Boehringer Ingelheim achieved a successful business performance in the first six months of 2005. As the company announced in Ingelheim on Monday, its expectations were fulfilled. World sales rose by 22 percent compared with the previous year to 4.5 billion euros, thanks to newly launched innovative medications. Operating income increased to 768 million euros. Dr Alessandro Banchi, Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors and responsible for Pharma Marketing and Sales, described business development as most gratifying.
