SEC Associates Wins Health IT Security Contract

January 31, 2006

SEC Associates won a spot on the contract team working with the HHS, RTI International and the National Governors Association (NGA) to examine privacy and security laws and business practices that affect the ability of states to exchange interoperable ehealth information, the company announced.

The team will work with up to 40 state governments and territories to identify, assess and develop plans to address variations in organizational-level business policies and state laws that affect privacy and security practices that may pose challenges to smooth interoperation of health information exchange according to a Jan. 10 press release.

Developing these solutions is an integral component of efforts to develop the National Health Information Network, a system in which ehealth records would be shared among health care providers nationwide.
