ADVISORY TEAM CALLS FOR NEW COLLABORATIVE GROUPS WITHIN CDRH

CDRH should add new "cross-cutting collaborative product groups" to its structure to help it deal with the total product life cycles of the devices it regulates, says an agency advisory team.

CDRH's Postmarket Transformation Leadership Team issued a report Nov. 9 recommending that the new groups be permanent to ensure that the strengthened collaboration occurs on a routine basis, not just during crises.

Moreover, CDRH officials "should encourage cross-organizational collaboration through training and recruitment" and reward employees for working together better.
