GROUP FUSING DEVICE AND PHARMA APPOINTS ADVISORY BOARD

PharmaMedDevice, a forum representing the convergence of the device, pharmaceutical and biologic industries, will hold its inaugural event alongside the Interphex conference April 2426, 2007, in New York. The two events will allow firms to discuss regulatory challenges and initiate partnerships for next-generation product development, including combination products and drug delivery technology, the group said.

The group recently announced its advisory board, which includes:

Ronald Earle, consultant;

David Feigal, partner with NDA Partners;

Martin Gold, founder and principal of Technology Access Partners;

Thomas Gunderson, senior research analyst with Piper Jaffray;

Mark Leahey, executive director of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association;

Robert O'Holla, vice president of regulatory affairs in the Medical Devices and Diagnostics Group at Johnson & Johnson;

Stuart Portnoy, director of medical device consulting with Pharmanet;

Ashutosh Sharma, vice president of product and process development at Vyteris;

Peter Slone, vice president of government affairs at Medtronic; and

Bradley Thompson, a shareholder of Epstein, Becker & Green.
