BD BIOSCIENCES, ROCHE TO COLLABORATE ON BIOMARKER DISCOVERY PROJECT

Becton Dickinson's (BD) unit BD Biosciences and Swiss diagnostics firm Roche announced a new collaboration to improve the understanding of pathways that carry information inside cells and identify why those pathways can malfunction and cause disease.

The collaboration will focus on the identification and development of intracellular phosphorylation site antibodies, the firms said. Phosphorylation is a reversible modification of a protein or lipid through the addition or removal of phosphates.
