Bayer Schering to Develop Imaging Agents (Pharma Gazette)
In her blog, Gloria Gamat writes about Bayer Schering Pharma's recently formed license agreements with Taisho Pharmaceutical, Nihon Nohyaku and Japan's National Institute of Radiological Sciences to develop new imaging compounds for the detection of neurodegenerative diseases.

The compounds will be developed to detect amyloid plaques, an indicator of Alzheimer's disease, and neuroinflammation. The agents will be for use in conjunction with positron emission tomography scanning.
